How are pool league statistics usually recorded?

In most team pool leagues, each match is made up of several individual games (or frames) played between players from each team. Leagues often record the score for each game within the match so that both team results and individual player statistics can be tracked.

On LeagueRepublic, this is typically configured so that each match contains multiple singles and/or doubles games, with the result of each game contributing to player statistics and league standings.

For example, a pool match might consist of 6 singles games and 3 doubles games, all recorded within the same fixture.

Example: Pool Match Structure

A typical team pool match might look like this:

  • 6 singles games

  • 3 doubles games

Each game result contributes to the final team score.

Example structure:

From these results the system automatically calculates:

  • Team match results

  • Frames or games won

  • Individual player statistics

  • Player leaderboards across all teams

Typical LeagueRepublic Setup

To configure this structure in LeagueRepublic you create a Game Format that defines how many singles and doubles games are played in each match.

Step 1 - Create the Game Format

Go to:

Setup > Statistics Setup > Game Formats

Create a new game format (for example Format1) and select Yes to record the score.

You then add the different game groups used in the match.

Game Group 1 - Singles

Description: Singles
Short Description: SNG

Settings:

  • Number of Games: 6 (if six singles games are played)

  • Number of Players Per Team: 1

  • Sequence: 1

This tells the system that the first part of the match consists of six singles games.

Game Group 2 - Doubles

Description: Doubles
Short Description: DBL

Settings:

  • Number of Games: 3 (if three doubles games are played)

  • Number of Players Per Team: 2

  • Sequence: 2

This defines the doubles section of the match.

Once these are configured, click Add New to save the format.

Step 2 - Set Up Individual Player Statistics

If your league records additional statistics such as:

  • 8 on the break

  • Break and run

Go to:

Setup > Stat Setup > Individual Stat Types

Add the statistics you want to track.

Example:

Select 8 on Break and click Add.

These statistics can then be recorded when match results are entered.

Step 3 - Add Players to Teams

To record player statistics, players must exist in the system.

Go to:

People > List People > Player

Then click Create New.

For each player:

  • Enter their name

  • Assign them to the correct team

Once players are added, they can be selected when entering match results.
