What are Live Results?

Live Results allow league members and fans to see match scores as they are entered, before the results are finalised.

When a score is entered as a Latest Score, it appears on the Live Results page so people can follow matches while they are happening. These scores are considered temporary and do not affect standings or official results until they are confirmed as final.

Once the result is changed to Final Score, it becomes an official result and updates league standings.

Live Results Overview

The Live Results page displays the most recent scores entered for matches across your league.

This allows players, organisers and supporters to:

  • Follow matches as they are played

  • See scores before results are finalised

  • View all matches taking place on the same day

Scores entered through the LeagueRepublic administration system can be marked as either:

  • Latest Score - a live update while the match is in progress

  • Final Score - the completed and official match result

How Latest Scores Work

When entering results, you can choose to record a score as a Latest Score.

Latest scores:

  • Appear on the Live Results page

  • Show the current progress of a match

  • Do not affect standings or official results

Only when the score is changed to Final Score will the result:

  • Appear in official results listings

  • Update league tables or standings

This prevents incomplete or temporary scores from affecting the competition standings.

Result Approval

Some leagues require results to be approved before they become official.

If your league requires approval

  • Results must be approved by a League Administrator

  • Approved results appear in official results lists

  • Standings update only after approval

If your league uses automatic approval

  • Results become official immediately when set to Final Score

  • Standings update automatically

Approval settings help leagues control when results become official.

Which Matches Appear on the Live Results Page?

A match will appear on the Live Results page if any of the following apply:

  • A Latest Score has been entered

  • Game format statistics have been entered

  • The Final Score has been entered but not yet approved

The page also displays other matches scheduled for the same day within the same division or tournament.

This allows viewers to see the full list of matches happening that day in one place.

Disabling Live Results

Live Results are enabled automatically for most leagues.

Note: Cricket leagues have Live Results disabled by default.

To disable Live Results:

  1. Go to Setup > Settings > League Options > Approval and Locking

  2. Uncheck Enable Live Results

If you disable Live Results:

  • Any matches with Latest Scores will have those temporary scores removed

  • Only finalised match results will remain in the system

When Live Results Are Most Useful

Live Results are commonly used when:

  • Matches are played across multiple venues

  • Fans or players want to follow scores remotely

  • Results are entered during the match

This feature allows leagues to share match updates without affecting official standings until results are confirmed.
